CURVES OF LEARNING

Graphically showing the development of an individual in a given activity is called learning curve.

The learning speed of a person varies, sometimes it can be fast and sometimes it can be slow, thus if it is displayed in the form of a line on the graph, then it will become a curve line, this is called learning curve, it gives us our  knowledge about if their is  progress or decline in learning.

The learning curve is usually divided into three parts:- Initial, Middle and Final.

The speed of learning of a person depends on the following factors such as interest, motivation, curiosity, enthusiasm, prior to the task of the learner. Knowledge, simplicity or complexity of the task, etc.

The curves made on the basis of the speed of learning of children are divided into four parts:

1.Positive Curve:-

In this the amount of learning is less in the beginning, hence learning is less and gradually the speed of learning increases by progress.

2.Negative Curve:-

In this, the pace of learning is rapid in the beginning but slows down in the end.

3. S - Curve:-

In this, the pace of learning is slow in the beginning, fast in the middle and in the end it slows down again.

4.Uniform Curve:-

When the speed of learning is uniform from beginning to end, then the curve comes in a straight line.

The main causes of fluctuations in the cycle depend on the variation in the amount of stimulation, balance and excess, fatigue, enthusiasm, exercise incentives.
